Country Store

Are you familiar with the Vermont Country Store Christmas Catalog?
I would like to order some treats like this for the holidays. Is there a place to get them cheaper? I guess I am looking for a store that does a lot of import desserts and candies.
Do you have a Trader Vic’s or Cracker Barrel where you are? They usually have wonderful / unique items around Christmas.

Bringing back the Friendly General …… Country Store online!
Having worked in major markets of the media for some decades, I remember when the better pr person could be, or spin-doctor if you will, the "cooler" than he was, and more people who wanted to do business with you. All that has changed dramatically, and probably for the better.
I love reading autobiographies, because, more often than not, one actually arrives to meet the author "through the book, and it's easy (for me) within the first few pages to see if the article is written from the heart of the writer, or if it is pure advertising.
I try to read them all because they have a "grounding experience. If the author is able to express him / her, or he / she may reveal things that are never told in the press.
On the few occasions I have read a good one, I may be so excited, I want to prove what person you tried. Of course, the fifty-two, I am keenly aware of my shortcomings and liabilities and limitations, and I can not "do everything" as I felt In my youth, so I do what I can do where my strengths.
Two of the best autobiographies I read were of Sam Walton and Charles Schulz, different reasons.
I loved it, because I've always heard Schulz was always a good guy, never let his success get to his head, and hung out with kids in the local rink until his death. He put "out there", despite combat TRD (treatment resistant depression) and made a difference. He created a character, Charlie Brown, the proverbial loser, whom he knew, no matter how successful we all become, we can always identify a little with Charlie Brown and his discovery and frustrations of their own failures.
Schulz reveals in his book some of its ironies. Remember the girl with red hair that Charlie always I thought I would have loved? In real life, Schulz was dating a redheaded woman who left him for a firefighter, because not give up its dream of becoming a cartoonist and was getting nowhere. A few months later he married the fireman became syndicated Peanuts. What man in the world can not identify with that scene? And one can not but admire the cunning of Schulz and his ability to turn paper and pencil into an empire. He did not do with hype. He did it because we could identify with "the Lost Child of Charlie Brown, where everyone else, even the dog, had the answers when he did not.
Why Sam Walton? Who can be surprised by this small rural town gentleman who understood the importance of quality and service, and demanded that no matter how big it grew demanded that he and his employees maintain that same personal service. But of course, given today's market that has not happened, which has managed to do it online, and to some extent in their stores, without fanfare.
One of the chief executives of Wal-Mart, revealed last month that sales at stores was down .05%, but online up to 43%. This information is important because it means either they're doing something right on the Internet, or more people are shopping online. Certainly your site only offers some of the products available in your store. And often the prices are a little higher. So something has happened.
What is it? I firmly believe the dot.com boom is just starting, not based on the history of Wal-Mart, but given all the tools available online electronic retailers and marketers of services, ebooks, etc.
Ezine Articles alone can help one to develop a large number of followers. Does Wal-Mart ezine marketing use? I do not know for sure, but not necessary. Only they did for them, and so do many other Citing something about Wal-Mart. It is in our everyday vocabulary. It is a brand, a household word rooted in our psyche that there was a hundred years ago.
Forty years ago, Woolworth's and Sears was the same. But something else happened. What?
The Walton family made a very astute move. They decided they would buy more the prices are lower and pass the savings to consumers and are based on turnover of products. Sometimes they would take losses on the products, but others compensate. They created a strict policy that is purchased, and investigated each supplier to make sure they were capable of delivery.
Now, each of us can do the same on the Internet. With a little research, you can find wholesalers who are real wholesalers / Dropshippers and can match and often even beat the prices they sell for big dogs. In fact have a suggested retail price is generally a bit high. Dealing with my stores to take prices to down (and even offer an additional discount with coupon) throughout the store.
If you have not tried coupons or coupon code sites, some of them can be very profitable. I just have a word through the Board on all products in my store. In the box, the customer types in "storewide" any purchase and receive a 5% discount on the discounted price. This does not sound like much, but when buying consumer electronics, computers, digital cameras and other items I sell, it can add up, and the fact that prices are already discounted from the recommended retail price offers added value. Internet shoppers love "added value" and can keep most return month after month, year after year. Occasionally look at the subscription to the newsletter (always who choose to bid on your site) and see that many of our guests are return customers.
Another sales strategy (especially on the Internet is offering "gifts"). There are a number of ways to do this.
Although a good portion of my products such as pet chews could sell as low as $ 3.00, a lot of products are more expensive, such as laptops or home entertainment system. It is easy to spend $ 500 or more in a good system.
So I decided to cross-promote other e-shop that I offer free coffee and gourmet gift baskets (our own brand, a $ 50 value) with any purchase of $ 500.
You can even take a step further and offer free engraving. For example, coffee gift basket also has mountains a cup of cartoons and animated cartoons our website inventory. We recorded without the client's name and web address which is a corporate gift unique, and a good number of orders come from the same promotion.
All this is a big hype. It's common sense. Internet Customers searching for good deals and interesting (as well as quality products and service). I decided from the outset, for example, to be marked only by name. I'm sure of name brands are always better than no name brands, but I know I often write a brand name when I'm looking for something. For example, when I was doing a keyword search of Google for a I "IBM Thinkpad" series, I found one (in my shop) and was the best deal and I'm Shopping Free gift and additional 5% discount.
I felt like the man who has "Hair Club for Men "…. I liked it so much I bought the business. I'll be honest, some products simply do not carry and I want (for my private use). I am not ashamed to say that not every store can please everyone, including mine. So when the store, put on my hat "customer" (and not the e-Willie Lohman), vendor, and begin looking for good deals or promotions and offers interesting that are not exaggerations, as are the people who shop with me.
Do not be afraid to look around and see what others are doing, if you own a shop or shops.
Do not plagiarize your site or concept, but if something works, think about your own promotion that may work even better.
You be amazed at the amount of orders that happening. Next week to be talking about double opt-in email campaigns and whether they are more (or less) of orientation top pay per click and they are more or less effective.
Stay tuned! And thanks for your time.
